Brian Purcell

Managing Partner

Brian is the founder and Managing Partner of Cuadra Capital, a real estate investment firm focused on the retail, mixed-use, and office sectors in growth markets across the United States. He has over nineteen years of real estate investment, private equity, capital markets, and real estate operating experience. 

Prior to founding Cuadra, Brian was a Partner at Asana Partners, a retail-focused real estate investment manager. While at Asana, Brian had overall responsibility for investments, chaired the Investment Committee, and was a member of the Executive Committee. Across his nine-year tenure, the firm grew from $0 to +$7B in AUM and built a leading portfolio of retail and mixed-use assets across 25 MSAs. 

Before joining Asana in 2015, Brian was a Director of Asset & Portfolio Management at USAA Real Estate Company (now Affinius Capital), where he oversaw a portfolio of office, hospitality, and mixed-use assets. Prior to USAA, he worked in the retail and office sectors at Lincoln Harris and began his career at CBRE.

Brian serves on the Advisory Board of the Wood Center for Real Estate Studies at the University of North Carolina and the Advisory Council of the Texas McCombs Real Estate Center at the University of Texas. He has served as an adjunct professor for various courses at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina and serves on several civic boards and committees. 

Brian earned a Master of Business Administration with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts from Davidson College.
